Managing your New Year’s Eve

Everyone loves a party and NYE often puts on the party of the year. It can be easy to spiral out of control and make bad choices regarding food and drink on New Year’s Eve, so we have written this checklist for you to remember.

It consists of one point.

PACE YOURSELF!

FOOD: If there are platters and platters of food at your event, don’t be tempted to graze on it all night. Prepare a plate of finger food as your meal and then resist further temptation. It can be hard, especially when other people are eating plenty, but just think of all those extra calories you will be needing to work off in January.

BOOZE: Alcohol often flows freely at NYE events – it is the festive season after all – and of course it is fine to indulge a little. Just remember to follow each glass of alcohol with a glass of water. If possible try to stick to Prosecco or vodka, which have the lowest calorific value.

Before you go to bed, drink a big glass of water.

Start the New Year right by getting up and going for a nice long walk along the beach, followed by a swim in the ocean – a sure fire way to recover from a big night.
